Hours:      40 hours per week; Monday – Friday (plus flexibility for additional if required)

Salary:      £25,000 - £30,000 per annum

Shifnal School is an Ofsted ‘Good’ registered independent education campus offering a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum to boy and girls aged 5-19 years who have Social, Emotional and Mental health difficulties.

About the Role


As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Pastoral Manager to join our close-knit team at Hillcrest Shifnal School and work with our pupils.

We require a Pastoral Manager who can make a significant contribution to our school and support our students and staff on our journey to becoming an outstanding provision.


As Pastoral Manager you will frequently be the person filtering information and tackling situations as they arise and the ability to communicate clearly and confidently are essential.


 You will be a self-motivated team player, able to use your own initiative and have a commitment to the school’s ethos, aims and its whole community. The successful candidate will be an innovative, reflective practitioner who can demonstrate the willingness to adapt and learn. We are looking for an individual with high expectations and standards who can offer excellent behavioural management skills. You will lead your team of staff by example and make a real difference to our students.


You will need to:


Create detailed bespoke risk assessments for our students

Be confident in your knowledge and application of trauma informed practice

Co-ordinate multi-disciplinary approaches to support best outcomes

Support staff to develop their management of challenging behaviour

Analyse data and action next steps for improvement

Work alongside other leaders including department leads and Safeguarding Officer, and support in having an oversight of risk management and safeguarding

Complete CPI instructor training and become the schools lead in this area
