We are a popular, inclusive Church of England secondary school in Camberwell, South London. Ofsted judged us to be ‘outstanding’ for care and welfare of students and ‘good’ overall. Individual:
We seek to appoint an ambitious and talented Pastoral Officer who will lead one of our schools three ‘learning communities’ of approximately 200 students.
Main responsibilities:
- Working in a team to manage the day-to-day behaviour of students in a learning community including monitoring and recording behavioural incidents, mentoring students, investigating incidents and conducting resolution meetings.
- Ensuring good attendance and punctuality of students in a learning community including keeping good records and ensuring high quality communication with families.
- Being responsibility for the daily care of students in your community including supporting vulnerable students and their families.
Role: Full-time, Permanent

We believe that music imparts the discipline required for academic success and the joy that shared performance brings.
We work as a family. For example, every student is a member of one of our three Learning Communities. This ensures excellent relationships across the school, because students support and encourage each other, and each child is known and nurtured. We know that strong partnerships with parents and carers make a huge difference to success at school, so we work hard to build strong home/school relationships.

The most recent Ofsted inspection at Saint Gabriel’s College was in November 2018, in which we were judged to be a 'good' school in all areas and outstanding for pupil’s personal development and welfare.
"The principal, the senior leadership team and governors have created a culture of aspiration in a warm, caring and inclusive school. As a result, pupils make good progress.
