Lilian Baylis Technology School is a mixed, 11-18, inner city school located in a new building at Vauxhall, London. We are a multicultural community school, which serves the local community, and we view this as one of our key strengths. We value the diversity of our school, and strive to ensure that our students feel represented, both at whole school level and within the curriculum.
Our students are well behaved and ambitious, and they also value the school. All visitors to the school always comment on the calm and productive atmosphere of lessons. Our recent OfSTED inspection in February 2023 stated we were ‘outstanding’ across all aspects.
Our motto is to “Educate, Empower, Excel” and our pastoral systems form the backbone to achieving this for our students. We are proud of the strong systems we have in place already, and the successful candidate would work within a well established pastoral team, including working closely with the Deputy Head for Inclusion and the Assistant Head SENDCo.
In particular, we are looking for an organised and enthusiastic person who could play an integral part in providing support for our most vulnerable students, as well as working with external agencies. The successful candidate will work alongside the current Pastoral Officers across all year groups, providing support for colleagues as well as developing innovative interventions that have a meaningful impact upon our students’ mental health and behaviour.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone currently working as a Pastoral Officer, or someone who is working in children’s services / youth work and would bring additional expertise to the role. CPD provision is strong and we aim for our Pastoral team to be at the leading edge of professional practice, especially in improving the mental wellbeing of our pupils.
