SALARY: Grade 4 Points 17-21 (£19,554 - £21,166) pro-rata (£16,351 - £17,699 Actual)

Do you have experience of providing pastoral support to students? Could you play a key role in supporting vulnerable young people with identified behaviour, attendance and welfare issues to overcome their barriers to learning?

You will be located in Didsbury, (often voted as one of the most popular places to live in Manchester) only a short walk from the vibrant shops, bars and restaurants of Didsbury village. You will also have access to excellent transport links to Manchester city centre and surrounding areas.

You will be providing support to a number of students with behaviour, attendance and welfare issues including Pupil Premium students, Looked After Children, Young Carers and Persistent non-attenders to overcome their barriers to learning in order to enable them to make progress academically.  

You should:


• Have experience of working with children and young people to support them in overcoming barriers to their personal, social or learning development

• Have a clear understanding of the range of potential barriers to learning and attending school faced by children and young people along with strategies to overcome them

• Be able to establish relationships with students and their families

• Have good interpersonal skills including listening skills

• Be self-motivated with the ability to work independently without direct supervision

• Have the resilience to work under pressure
