Victoria Primary Academy has been a member of Hatton Academies Trust since January 2014, we are a small trust of 3 primary and 1 secondary school and we collaborate in all aspects of teaching, learning and school management.

Our mission statement at Victoria Primary Academy is:

Creating learners without limits

All members of staff share this aim and work together to support all pupils in our care.

Victoria Primary Academy has an experienced senior leadership team which receives further support and challenge from the Academies Trust. These roles are well supported by our middle leaders across the school. Year group teams work effectively together and are released in pairs for PPA – no one is left to plan alone.

The School is organised into 14 classes, two for each year group. Across the Academy there are approximately 50 members of staff. All members of staff are valued members of the team working both inside and outside the classrooms to ensure the very best education for all our pupils.

We have a modern building with good learning facilities both inside and outside. The academy has grown over the last few years and has undergone two building programmes. We had an amazing new outside area designed and built for our Reception children in the summer of 2018, our children have really benefitted from this new resource. We have also created a quiet play area, complete with rainbow canopy and all weather surface where children can spend their break times. In this area they can play giant connect four, play with lego, read a book, chat with friends etc. Our next phase of development will be to improve our environmental area.

We offer a range of clubs after the academy day and they are popular with children of all ages. A team of sports coaches come in to lead the learning in a variety of physical activities and sports both during the academy day and after.

Our inclusion team is highly skilled, they support learning in the classroom and plan interventions to ensure good progress of all children. Children are expected to behave in an appropriate manner during all activities. We pride ourselves in having a community of polite and well-behaved children and follow a positive behaviour policy to ensure this.

Our Academy Values of responsibility, perseverance, patience, cooperation, respect, integrity and aspiration underpin everything we do to ensure all pupils recognise the importance of their behaviour towards themselves and others.

We are proud to be a diverse learning community. Around 55% of our pupils speak English as an additional language and there are approximately 40 languages spoken by our children and families. We have families from around 19 different ethnic groups represented here at Victoria, our largest groups are white British, Eastern European, Bangladeshi and Indian.

Typically, around a quarter of pupils have special educational needs. They are supported for a wide range of needs including learning, SEMH, ASD, visual and hearing impairments and social skills.

Successful applicants will be part of a diverse community and work alongside a large, supportive team of professionals. The challenges and opportunities we can provide will enable you to develop professionally and personally.
