This is a rare chance to be part of a dynamic Pastoral Support Team in a four times outstanding special school.
Three years ago we introduced a three member Pastoral Support Team refocusing our approach to behaviour for learning into a forward thinking Positive Behaviour Policy based on restorative approaches in schools. The team have done a brilliant job and have had a significant impact on some of our young people’s ability to engage in learning as well as develop positive social relationships through greater emotional regulation and putting things right when conflict occurs.
We are now looking for a dynamic person to join this established team to support and enable their work and impact to grow and to be even more successful.
If you are a first-class mentor or teaching assistant and passionate about the difference an excellent school can make to young people’s ability to learn, express themselves and become active global citizens, please get in touch.
We offer a diverse and vibrant curriculum, which is tailored to meet students’ needs by exciting, supporting and challenging them. We expect our students to make the best progress possible; socially, emotionally and academically.
Hours of work are 8.30am to 4pm which includes attending fortnightly CPD.
Please look at the uploaded documents. Don’t worry if you don’t have special school experience: very few of us did before we came here!
For a school visit please call Brenda Vanriel on 020 8985 4245 to book a space.
Closing date for receipt of emailed applications is 9am 29 October 2018

About Stormont House School
Stormont House School is an exceptional and widely-respected special school whose pupils achieve up to GCSE/BTEC levels. We became one of the first outstanding schools in the country in 2005 and have improved at each of the 4 full inspections since then (most recently in 2018). We were in the first group of special schools to receive the World-Class Schools Quality Mark and work with other schools as a National Support School and as a lead school within the Hackney Teaching Schools’ Alliance.
