Rotherham

£80.00 – £100.00 Per day

Easter 2019 – Ongoing

Vision for Education are currently recruiting a Head of Year/Pastoral and Behaviour Support Officer to work closely with their current Year 10 cohort. Ideally, the right candidate will have experience in managing a classroom, with Cover Supervisor or Teaching experience being preferred. This, however – is not essential.

The role

The successful candidate will build on the success of the Academy’s effective Key provision, which continually enhances the quality of challenge, support and achievement of our students and be wholly responsible for the pastoral, and behaviour support of Year 10

Key responsibilities will include:

• Supporting and challenging students

• Tracking and monitoring their work and attendance to ensure outstanding progress

• Coordinating intervention where appropriate

• Taking a lead with parental engagement

The post will include working closely with the Senior Leadership Team to enhance the learning, progress and well-being of all Year 10 students. There will be a requirement to work closely with parents.

The school

The school is a large academy on the Outskirts of Rotherham, rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, and highly recommended by my own team of supply staff who have worked in this school on a regular basis for a number of years. The school has an inclusive, forward thinking ethos and a genuinely caring atmosphere. Staff work collaboratively and to a common goal which shows.

Requirements

To be considered for the position of Head of Year, you will:

• Have experience working with Secondary aged children in a pastoral role.

• Have experience working as a Cover Supervisor or Teaching Assistant.

• Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of Support Staff.

• Have a passion for progress and support.

Vision for Education is committed to Safeguarding children and young people. We take our responsibilities extremely seriously. All staff we register will undertake thorough interviewing and referencing checks and hold, or be prepared to undergo, an Enhanced DBS Check that must be registered to the Update Service.
