This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly successful, oversubscribed, mixed, multicultural high school in West London. We are in the top 5-10% of schools nationally, for student progress. Our Pastoral Support Workers play a critical role in the support of our students, both in and outside of the classroom. We are looking for an ambitious individual who is interested in working with young people and may have a desire to progress towards a teaching career in the future. Many of our former support staff have gone on to join our Teaching Training Programme here at Greenford High School. Experience in working with young people, and/or mentoring would be helpful. A ‘can do’ attitude, a willingness to be flexible and adaptable, an ability to remain calm and the desire to make a difference to young people’s lives are all key.

We offer:

·        Greenford High School has a long history of offering excellent CPD programmes, collaboration with other schools, personalised coaching and an outstanding record of career progression.

·        Excellent modern facilities and interactive technology in a well-resourced, supportive and friendly school.

·        Other benefits include: generous non-contact time; small class sizes wherever possible; assistance for those taking Masters and further degrees; many colleagues taking Teaching Leaders courses, Future Leaders, NPQML and NPQSL; a partnership with the Institute of Education and Teach First; a dedicated and supportive pastoral team; free parking and bicycle storage; shared department workroom; an excellent library; access to sporting facilities and a fitness gym; Workplace Options scheme providing advice and support; staff social events and well-being sessions

MISSION STATEMENT

Learning to succeed is what Greenford High School is about: a love of learning; the motivation to succeed. Our aim is for students to fulfil their limitless potential – through perseverance and effort. Excellence, in the words of Aristotle, is not an act but a habit. We don’t select our students, but we do select our staff. Each highly trained teacher is here to support, guide, inspire our students so that whatever their starting point when they arrive, they leave with the world at their feet – equipped and ready to continue their learning, at university, apprenticeships and throughout their careers. We aim to provide the best opportunities – academic, cultural and sporting - and a sense of moral and social responsibility so that each child realises that humanity is their business and the common good their aim.
