Tes Institute, part of Tes Global, is one of the largest providers in the country of Initial Teacher Training (ITT), Subject Knowledge Enhancement (SKE), and professional development and leadership training. We provide high quality but flexible approaches to learning, designed to help school staff teach and lead with confidence.

We need Pathway Tutors in the specified regions below for our very successful and rapidly growing Straight to Teaching (S2T) programme. This role is key to the success of learners – supporting them to develop their teaching and preparing them for their QTS assessment.

We are specifically seeking Pathway Tutors to cover the following geographical regions and age ranges:

Primary tutors 3-11 age ranges

  • Liverpool/Manchester/Lancashire
  • Birmingham area
  • Cumbria
  • North Yorkshire/York
  • Cambridge/Peterborough area
  • Oxford area

Secondary 11-18 age ranges

  • Liverpool/Manchester/Lancashire
  • Birmingham area
  • Cambridge/Peterborough area
  • Leeds/Bradford

You must have experience of:

  • teaching in schools in England and have QTS
  • working in a leadership position within an education setting (typically in schools or a wider organisation that provides support to schools such as Local Authorities or academy chains in an ‘education advisor’ capacity)
  • working with trainee teachers and or NQTs including making judgements against the Teachers' Standards and in providing advice and support to develop practice
  • observing teaching and learning and providing expert verbal and written feedback to develop practice
  • working professionally with school staff at all levels from headteacher to trainee teacher.

To reflect our provision, with start dates for the S2T programme available throughout the year, we are taking Pathway Tutor applications on a rolling basis. There may therefore be a delay between your application being received and confirmation of the outcome, as we continue to review applications on an ongoing basis. We maintain a reserve list, which we may invite applicants to be placed on. Work will be offered to successful applicants as and when new cohorts of learners start their programmes and can be matched to suitable tutors.
