Job overview

We are seeking to appoint a Payroll Manager with 'hands-on' end-to-end Payroll processing and extensive systems experience.  This is an excellent opportunity for a Payroll Manager / Payroll Team Leader to play a major role in payroll operations for a staff of approximately 800 individuals within a multiple-entity structure, leading our payroll service and managing the benefits function of the Trust. 

Main Accountabilities: 

• Managing payroll processing and customer relations;

• Supporting the Trust’s Finance Manager in the management of the Team;

• Processing and reconciliation of third-party payments (eg. HMRC);

• Management of Pension administration;

• Ensuring accuracy of output and processing;

• Liaising with Finance in statutory reporting. 

Skills & Experience: 

• The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in payroll processing within complex organisations with 500+ employees;

• Experience of Payroll systems including reporting and configuration;

• Specialist knowledge of Tax, National Insurance, Pensions administration etc;

• Demonstrated leadership skills, with in-depth, hands-on experience of payroll processing and benefits administration; 

• The ability to build relationships with HR, school and finance colleagues;

• Exceptional organisational skills and a meticulous eye for detail;

• Strong systems skills and experience with HR / Payroll Systems as well as MS Excel, Word etc.

The Payroll Manager will have the opportunity to make an immediate impact in improving processes as the organisation is embedding its new Payroll system, iTrent.  There are several interesting projects on the horizon for the Payroll Manager to participate and lead within.
