As PE and Games Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our sports curriculum, with a particular focus on increasing participation, enhancing the quality of teaching, and promoting girls' sports within the school. You will work closely with Academic Principal to ensure the smooth operation of our sports programs and the overall well-being of our students.
Key Responsibilities:
· Ability to teach GCSE PE is desirable
· Develop and implement strategies to improve participation in games lessons and fixtures across all year groups.
· Enhance the quality of teaching and organizational structure of games lessons through effective curriculum planning.
· Promote and support girls' sports initiatives within the school community.
· Establish a fixture schedule for students outside of the school’s academies, fostering participation in competitive sports.
· Collaborate with Academic Principal to expand the range of sporting activities offered in the curriculum.
· Manage PE and Games budget in coordination with the Senior Management Team (SMT).
· Work on improving inter house competitions and involve students in local leagues and competitions.
· Ensure proper organization and administration of girls' fixtures, including transportation and match arrangements.
· Support the promotion of Girls’ Academies.
· Collaborate with department members to enhance students' overall health and fitness levels through innovative initiatives.
· Coordinate age-appropriate trips and events related to physical education.
· Organize staff vs. student matches and staff competitions to foster camaraderie and team spirit.
· Meet regularly with relevant stakeholders to monitor student progress in games and PE lessons.
· Prepare Girls Captains for weekly assembly results presentation.
· Undertake training as required to stay updated with industry standards and best practices.
· Collaborate with the team to develop and refine schemes of work for the PE curriculum.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or related field (preferred).
· Previous experience in coordinating sports programs or similar roles.
· Strong organizational and communication skills.
· Passion for promoting physical fitness and sportsmanship among students.
· Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders.
· Commitment to upholding safeguarding and child protection policies.
