We are seeking a PE Apprentice who will be required to support Physical Education lessons and provide administrative service to the Head of PE. The post holder will work under the direction of the Head of PE. All duties are carried out within recognised procedures or guidelines.
The ideal candidate will have a broad understanding of PE and be able to set up and use equipment within the department as well as provide support by organising PE fixtures and preparing resources for lessons as required. The ability to communicate effectively with students, colleagues and staff is essential, along with good time management skills.
Our state of the art facilities at our new build allow us to deliver a range of exciting activities both in lessons and extra-curricular time. We are lucky to have a 4 badminton court sports hall, dance studio, MUGA and a field that boasts 4 football pitches in the winter and a full size athletics track in the summer. In addition we also have access to a brand new full size 4G astro.

You will complete a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship Standard. You may also be required to complete English and maths functional skills (depending on existing qualifications). Further information about the apprenticeship programme can be found here.
Your Trainer will meet with you in the workplace every 4 weeks. In between these meetings you will have dedicated time away from your job to work on the apprenticeship and collate evidence for your apprenticeship e-portfolio with ongoing support from your Manager and Trainer.
This is an exciting opportunity to be in a real job, with real variety, from day one whilst working towards a qualification. The successful candidate will have excellent people and communication skills and will be flexible to adapt to changing situations.
To be eligible for the Apprenticeship, applicants must have resided in the UK or EEA for 3 years prior to the start of the Apprenticeship. Please note: applicants must not have already completed a Level 3 Teaching Assistant apprenticeship.
Please note: AET has their own in house apprenticeship scheme and do not work with any other training providers to deliver Apprenticeships.
This will be a fixed term position and the duration of the apprenticeship will be determined by the job role and current skills. The typical duration of the apprenticeship is 21 months, however, can be longer or shorter depending on existing knowledge, skills and experience, up to a maximum length of 26 months.

This means we have a slimmed-down marking policy, a centralised knowledge focused homework policy, no parents evenings and a minimal assessment, reporting and data entry cycle.
