The SABDEN Multi Academy Trust, based across East Sussex, is an aspirational and supportive Trust, aiming to create a warm, caring, stable, supportive environment in which all pupils and staff feel safe. We are three special schools, a secure children’s home, a large countywide alternative provision and a vocationally focussed Free School. We strive to discover success through learning, self-belief and achievement.  Pupils are empowered to take responsibility through a personalised curriculum supported by secure relationships with staff and strong partnerships with parents and carers.

Lansdowne Secure Children’s Home and School is located in Halisham and is part of the SABDEN Multi Academy Trust and in working partnership with ESCC. We offer young people in crisis a safe, therapeutic and physically secure environment and provide a full-time education designed to re-engage residents in their learning. The school team is experienced, supportive and committed to delivering the highest quality learning experience.

We have a great opportunity for a teacher specialising in PE to work with the young people within our school. The home has been undergoing an expansion programme and we are looking to appoint an energetic teacher, to engage children and young people with complex emotional and learning needs, in physical activity, formal PE and supporting learning across the wider curriculum.

This is a new post offering the successful applicant the opportunity to establish both the PE department and curriculum. We would particularly welcome candidates who have additional skills in delivery of RSE, Citizenship and are able to offer the Sports Leaders qualification.

We are seeking applicants who are enthusiastic candidates, able to work collaboratively within the small school team, to motivate and support the education of young people as well as liaising with home staff to meet social and emotional needs. Lansdowne offers an opportunity to work in a holistic setting with extremely vulnerable young people.

You will be resilient and resourceful, able to remain calm in sometimes challenging situations; you will enjoy working in a structured environment with learning and enjoyment at the heart of all that we do.

The successful candidate will be joining a Trust and school that continues to be ambitious in its drive to improve outcomes for our pupils. You will join a highly dedicated and professional staff team and be part of a supportive working and learning environment, where your professional development is highly valued.
