Job Purpose

The successful applicant will play a key role in promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship among their students, helping them develop essential life skills through sports. You will be delivering inclusive, responsive and innovative teaching and learning within the curriculum of physical education. The aim of the role is to raise self-esteem and confidence in their pupils so that they engage in extra-curricular activities through their bespoke curriculum offer through both internal and external activities and events.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in coaching and organizing sports activities, particularly with young individuals, is desirable.
  • Passion for sports and physical fitness, with the ability to motivate and inspire students to participate and enjoy sports.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with both pupils and staff.
  • An understanding of the diverse needs and abilities of students with special educational needs.
  • Relevant coaching qualifications and certifications are an advantage.

About the school

This School is an independent residential special educational needs school for boys aged 7 – 16 years who have social, emotional, mental health, communication difficulties and associated challenging behaviours, located in rural Suffolk. The school has a committed and innovative multidisciplinary team, extensive site and excellent facilities to support both learning and extra-curricular activities; they are in a great position to provide their pupils with the best education and care possible.

This opportunity is in Halesworth which is within commutable distance of Lowestoft, Diss and surrounding areas.
