Job overview
Help us make a difference
Grove Academy is an all through school which opened in 2017 with classes in Reception, Years 1, 2, 3 and 7. We are looking for a passionate PE teacher to join us in our second year to not only instill a real passion for the subject but to help build the resilience and confidence of our pupils. The ability to be flexible as the school grows is essential, as is the willingness to delivery extra-curricular clubs.
This is a great chance to shape a healthy and active life style at Grove and develop the subject of PE initially in Years 7 and 8. The post could suit either an experienced teacher looking for a challenge or an NQT with drive and enthusiasm.
We are looking for a PE teacher who:
- Is passionate about sports and games and ambitious for their students
- Evidence of delivering excellent lessons
- Excited to work within a team of both primary and secondary staff who want to create a unique offer for our families
- A desire to provide students with experiences and opportunities they will never forget
What can we offer you?
- A place where you will feel valued for your hard work
- Good in house CPD offer
- Caring, well behaved and motivated students
- Unique professional development pathways available to suitable candidates because our philosophy is to ‘grow our own’ where possible

About Grove Academy
Grove Academy is the first all-through school to open in Slough and provides opportunity and education for 4 to 16 year olds, underpinned by high-quality teaching and learning and a common assessment framework. This continuity ensures that we can avoid the dips in performance associated with transition from one phase or school to another.
As one school we are able to teach subjects to our younger children via specialist subject teachers, such as modern foreign languages and PE. We can provide pastoral care for children in challenging circumstances by offering a ‘joined-up’ strategy and support families more consistently over a longer time.
Staff say - "I am proud to be a staff member at Grove"
Parents say - "We are really happy and proud that our child goes to Grove Academy"
Students say - "Grove has really kind teachers who care about their students"
Our Vision, Aims & Ethos:
Grove Academy is a school where every child can feel welcome, successful and included. We want our pupils to:
· Be responsible, fully active citizens who are kind to one another, ready to learn, know how to keep themselves safe and are proud of their achievements
· Develop the confidence to participate in decision making, and have a creative input across the three areas of family well-being, public service and contribution to the economy
· Engage in a curriculum which will encourage problem solving, critical reflection, research and challenge
· Leave school confident in their ability to succeed and able to successfully access the world of work or further/higher education
· Be able to learn new skills and engage in business markets that no one is yet able to define
· Be the future leaders of our society
· Recognise the importance of creativity and innovation to their future lives
