We are looking for an inspiring teacher of PE to join our department at Oaks Park High School. 

The PE and Dance Department at Oaks Park High is a very experienced, successful and hardworking department who are adaptable, reliable and work well as a team.  The team consists of 7 full time members of staff, and a CSO. Our goal in PE is to inspire and support students, promote physical fitness and student enjoyment and well-being within lessons and through extracurricular. We aim for all students to have a positive experience of Physical Education, where they can learn and develop their skills; including literacy, numeracy and oracy, competency, confidence and interpersonal skills in a range of sports.

Our excellent sports facilities, allows us to have a dynamic and creative curriculum which can be accessed and challenged by all. Inside we have a full sized Sportshall, dance studio and gym. Outside we have a full sized Astroturf, a small concrete MUGA, and 2 grass areas with a 9 aside football pitch and full size football pitch on, a 400m athletics track, cricket nets and a low ropes area. 

Students have 2, 1 hours PE lessons a week in Key stage 3 (Year 7 and 8), where our Curriculum aims to explore and expand on students’ prior learning from KS2, by building upon fundamental skills, introducing new sports and implementing the importance of a healthy body and mind.

At Key Stage 4 (Year 9-11), students have the opportunity to take GCSE PE or Level 2 BTEC Tec Award on top of their 2, 1 hour lessons of Core PE, where the curriculum continues to build on their progress from Key Stage 3 developing their physical and mental well-being, fitness and enjoyment of different sports within Core PE.

At Key Stage 5 students can then choose to further their sporting career by taking, A Level PE and BTEC Sport Level 3 Diploma.

At Oaks Park High School, we offer a broad range of Extra Curricular clubs after school including netball, football, dance, rugby, rounders, cricket and athletics. For those more competitive students, we compete against other schools in League, Country and National Cups throughout the year. We are a school where sport plays a vital role in student’s future development and we try and promote and inspire student to this ethos throughout their time at Oaks Park.

  • Inspire and support our students across Key Stage 3 and 4.

  • Be creative and reflective in the planning of lessons and schemes of works
  • Have the skills to form excellent working relationships with all individuals.

Our school is situated in Carshalton, 30 minutes from London Victoria by train and a short distance from Sutton, Merton, Croydon and Kingston. The successful candidate will be provided with a laptop.
