Are you highly organised with strong interpersonal skills and a keen eye for detail?

We have a new and exciting part-time opening within our friendly and capable people team, providing first line payroll, recruitment and procedural support to a group of three primary schools.


Your Opportunity

You will enjoy working flexibly across three of our Schools – Merstham Primary School, Lime Tree Primary School and Salfords Primary School. You will utilise your strong organisation and administrative skills to support our school leadership teams and regional partners. Your personable and enthusiastic nature, as well as your ability to remain calm under pressure will enable you to deliver an outstanding employee experience for our employees. Your impact will make a difference to the outcomes of children attending the schools and provide you with a real sense of job satisfaction.

You will divide your time between your three schools according to their needs and priorities. This may mean travelling between schools during the working week, with occasional homeworking a possibility from time to time. You will be led by the Regional People Partner, delivering a range of services to provide an outstanding employee experience, including:

  • Recruitment, onboarding, offboarding and contract management
  •  Recording and processing of information, data reporting, payroll and compliance
  • Maintenance of the school single central record
  • Proactive escalation of more complex issues


What we are looking for

To be successful in this role you must be able to:

  • Prioritise and organise your work to tight and changing deadlines
  • Work on your own initiative and solve problems
  • Motivate yourself and thrive working on your own as well as in a team
  • Communicate in a clear, sensitive and confidential way with a wide range of people                                                         
  • A relevant HR qualification equivalent to Level 3 (Foundation Certificate in People Practice) would be advantageous, as would experience of working within a school environment – neither are essential.


Flexibility

We are happy to consider flexible working arrangements, which may include start/finish/break times to facilitate work and home balance. We are open to patterns ranging from 3.5 to 5 working days per week - if you have a preference, please indicate this in your application.

This role attracts automatic enrolment in the Local Government Pension Scheme, a defined benefit pension scheme. You are free to opt out of the pension scheme if you wish.


The Details

Start Date: ASAP, or by January 2022

Salary: GLF Specialist £22,500 FTE

Pro-rata salary: £15,441

Hours of work: 28 hours per week, 40 weeks of the year (term time plus one week). Other working patterns will be considered including fewer hours per week, please state your preferences in your application.
