Job overview

We are looking for an outstanding GAP student, or other individual, wanting a year’s placement in a local independent school at the top of its class in this area.

You will be aspiring to a career in Performing Arts, or in either music or drama as a discreet subject, and want to spend a year supporting and helping to teach music and / or drama to enthusiastic children who are ready to learn; leading and supporting extra-curricular music or drama activities to enthusiastic children; directing and supporting rehearsals for amazing productions; and helping organise large and small concerts and the performing arts calendar.

You will have tangible passion and enthusiasm for your subject and will waste no time in sharing your love for your craft with children in order to inspire them each and every day. You will want to develop your own skills and understanding in how children learn and will want to take advantage of all the opportunities offered to further your own future career through this opportunity as a key member of the Performing Arts department in an award-winning independent school.

The role is full-time from 8.15am-5.15pm Monday to Friday, term time, plus INSET days, with the option of staying until 6.30pm for additional pay. There is also the opportunity to be involved in holiday clubs and courses for Performing Arts as well as the opportunity to be part of the Games department for weekly matches, for the right candidate.

You will offer a specialism within performing arts such as piano accompaniment, singing, directing ensembles or theatre, choreography, dance or something else!
