Wembley High Technology College is one of the highest performing schools in the country. Nationally, the achievement of our pupils is exceptional; in 2019, our Progress 8 score of +1.58 has been recognised as the 4th highest in the country by the Department for Education. This progress from Key Stage 2 to GCSE has a transformative impact on our pupils’ life chances and last year, over 50% of pupils leaving us went on to Russell Group Universities to study a range of academic subjects. In September 2020, Wembley High will also be welcoming pupils from North Brent School in Year 7 for two years while their new £27 million building is completed. The addition of a new school in our Multi-Academy Trust provides exciting development and leadership opportunities for staff in the years to come.
The Music Department
We are looking for a peripatetic music teacher who can make a significant contribution to this strong and successful department by coaching Key Stage 3 and 4 students to develop as performers. All GCSE students have one peripatetic music lesson per week and Years 7 and 8 can choose to have instrumental lessons. Alongside singing, students can study an instrument from one of the following families:
The ideal candidate for this role will be able to coach students to perform accurately and expressively from complete beginners’ level to at least a Grade 5 standard across a number of different instruments. They also would be open to teaching some music lessons to larger classes of students across all year groups. The number of hours per week will depend on how many students require lessons in each instrument. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape the lives of students and be a part of a dynamic and focused team.
