Job overview

We are seeking inspirational and enthusiastic singing teachers to join this exceptional department. Bryanston’s Music Department is a fantastic place to work. We are housed within the Tom Wheare Music School with exceptional studio and recording facilities; it is a purpose-built and award-winning facility. The successful candidates will have a strong teaching track record and be accomplished performers.

We are seeking a permanent teacher currently for 1 day per week at our senior school. Additionally, we have a vacancy for maternity cover for 1 day per week across both prep and senior schools. Applicants are welcome to apply for both roles. Please specify on the application form for which role(s) you would like to be considered.

Closing date for applications: Sunday, 14 April 2024.

Bryanston is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.

About Bryanston School

Bryanston is an independent boarding and day school for boys and girls aged 3 to 18, set in a beautiful 400-acre site near Blandford Forum in Dorset. It includes Bryanston Prep School, a co-educational day and boarding prep school in the neighbouring village of Durweston.

Founded in 1928, the school aims above all to develop the all-round talents of individual pupils. A broad, flexible academic and extra-curricular programme is offered and each pupil benefits from considerable one-to-one help and guidance from a personal tutor, subject teachers and housemaster/housemistress. Bryanston aims to combine the best of the new and the old, as befits the school motto et nova et vetera.
