Job overview

We are looking for a Trumpet Tutor to teach 2 hours per week week at Stationers’ Crown Woods Academy in Eltham. The age range of the students is 11-18. The position would involve teaching students taking their Music GCSE and assisting them with their coursework, as well as teaching students who are paying for lessons. Instrumental lessons have a duration of 25 minutes per pupil, per week. Candidates would be required to run a weekly enrichment to further benefit students' GCSE coursework and knowledge of Sibelius is required. We hold a Christmas Cabaret each December, and tutors are expected to attend the show as well as the rehearsals.  This is a great opportunity for a musician to be part of our highly successful academy!  We can be flexible when determining which day per week the tutor will work with us as we appreciate our successful candidate is likely to have other commitments.

Working at Stationers' Crown Woods Academy:  The Stationers’ Crown Woods Academy joined our Trust in 2014.  The campus incorporates nine buildings which include four home schools each serving 450 pupils and students, a Design, Technology and Creative and Performing Arts School, a Sport & Community Education Centre and an Inclusions Hub.  Stationers’ Crown Woods Academy is delighted to be part of the Leigh Academies Trust who, with the Stationers’ Company and Ravensbourne, will enable the new Stationers’ Crown Woods Academy to enhance our provision and develop a Digital Curriculum fit for the future.

Our objective is to be a flagship Academy where every pupil not only achieves their full potential but also feels an integral part of the organisation. An Academy where no child feels lost and no child is left behind. An Academy where the bonds between parent, teacher and child are so secure that failure is not an option. The unique community that we have built ensures that young people achieve their ambition in a caring environment where they are the centre of all that we do.

Being part of Leigh Academies Trust:  Being part of a successful multi-academy trust allows the academy to share best practice and collaborate with colleagues from a number of other schools in the local area.  As part of the 'cluster' structure all of our academies are grouped together in key geographical areas to enable them to be able to support each other and share resources.  It also offers staff better access to career opportunities as the Trust is committed to developing and promoting from within wherever possible.  For more information on working for the Trust please visit our careers pages.
