Christ the King is a highly successful and heavily oversubscribed Catholic sixth form college located on three sites in south east London.  We specialise in meeting the needs of sixth form students, and have an established track record of excellent examinations success.  We have Category A financial status and have been recognised by Ofsted as delivering high quality of provision.

We are looking to appoint a talented, knowledgeable colleague who will lead the Personnel function across our three sites.

Personnel is a key central service at the College and helps to ensure that recruitment processes are efficiently managed, staffing information is accurately recorded and that college leaders are kept informed of changes to legislation or processes related to employment.

This is a high profile role and we are keen to appoint someone who has sound interpersonal skills, is professional in their approach to matters of confidentiality and discretion and who has a good understanding of employment-related issues.

This exciting role is available for a 1st November start or as soon as possible thereafter.

Established in 1992, Christ the King is a group of Catholic sixth forms in the South London area, dedicated to the education and development of the whole person.

We are an active learning community and our approach to professional development is firmly rooted in our culture of success. It goes beyond routine CPD and is centred around an innovative vision and framework with a wide portfolio of approaches including the following:

Mentoring

Through our mentoring programmes, you will have the chance to build relationships with colleagues at every stage of their careers.

Staff Study Bursaries

We award a number of bursaries to both teaching and support staff each year to assist with course fees for master’s degrees or further study.

Staff Research Bursaries

We have developed our own research programmes to inform and contribute to our understanding of how teaching and learning can be improved. You can undertake a small-scale action research project to reflect on teaching practice bringing evidence-informed best practice pedagogy to the classroom and to our work.

Subject Networks

Working with colleagues across our sixth forms strengthens the professional communication between teachers across our three sites. We currently have some 15 networks attended by over 150 staff.

All Staff Conferences

We run an annual conference for all staff each year, with contributions from guest speakers of national and international prowess. Recent topics include: Breaking Down Barriers to Success – Prioritising Progress for all Students, Transforming Teaching and Learning, Character Building and How Do We Create Successful Learners?
