Position Overview:

As a Physical Education (PE) Teacher at our prestigious international school, you will play a vital role in promoting physical fitness, well-being, and an active lifestyle among our diverse student body. You will deliver engaging and comprehensive PE lessons, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages students to develop their physical skills, teamwork abilities, and a lifelong passion for sports and physical activity. Responsibilities:

1. Design and deliver a stimulating and progressive physical education curriculum tailored to students' ages, abilities, and cultural backgrounds.
2. Teach students various sports, games, and physical activities, emphasizing fundamental movement skills, technique, strategy, and fair play.
3. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline, and respect for others.
4. Plan, organize, and lead engaging PE lessons that incorporate a variety of teaching methods, resources, and assessment strategies.
5. Adapt instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with different learning styles, abilities, and backgrounds.
6. Promote health and wellness by educating students about the benefits of physical activity, proper nutrition, and personal fitness goals.
7. Organize and supervise extracurricular sports activities, tournaments, and events to provide opportunities for students to showcase their skills and compete.
8. Monitor and assess students' progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and guidance to support their physical development and achievement.
9. Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and relevant stakeholders to foster a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
10. Stay updated with current trends, research, and best practices in physical education, integrating new ideas and methodologies into teaching practices.
11. Ensure the safety of students during PE classes, following established protocols and guidelines for equipment usage, first aid, and emergency procedures.
12. Participate in school-wide events, staff meetings, professional development activities, and parent-teacher conferences as required.
13. Contribute to the wider school community by participating in school committees, extracurricular activities, and supporting the school's mission and values.

OTHER:

1. To comply with, adhere to, and actively support school policies and procedures.
2. To carry out any other duties that are commensurate with the role and as instructed by PBISS management.
3. To adhere to the PBISS’s Health and Safety policies and procedures and to perform any school wide designated duties with regard to Health and Safety and the security of the school.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or a related field. A teaching certification or qualification is preferred.
2. Proven experience as a Physical Education Teacher, preferably in an international or multicultural educational setting.
3. Deep knowledge of various sports, physical fitness concepts, and wellness practices.
4. Ability to create and implement age-appropriate and engaging lesson plans.
5. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and parents from diverse cultural backgrounds.
6. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey information and provide feedback effectively.
7. Ability to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that values diversity and promotes equal opportunities.
8. Strong organizational and time-management skills to plan lessons, assess students, and manage extracurricular activities.
9. Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and the ability to integrate new teaching methodologies and technologies into practice.
10. CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain these certifications.
11. Proficiency in English. Additional language skills are an advantage.
