We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, highly capable and energetic teacher of physics for September 2018. A new school, occupying purpose built, state of the art buildings and facilities, we opened in September 2016 and specialise in STEM subjects for 14-19 year olds. We offer a forward thinking, innovative curriculum built on high academic standards, learning in a technical context, close links to employer and university partners and a professional environment making use of outstanding facilities and resources.
As a UTC, we offer GCSEs, A levels, and BTECs, with the opportunity for our students to learn valuable technical and employability skills. Our education plan ensures our students are on track to make outstanding progress, reach high levels of academic attainment and develop the skills essential for career success. London South Bank University is our main sponsor and we are co-sponsored by Skanska UK, King's College NHS Trust and Guys & St Thomas' NHS Trust who support our work closely in offering real-life employer challenge projects, developing authentic, contextualised learning.
This role is for a teacher able to deliver GCSE science and A-level physics within a strong team and will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to shape the curriculum, coupled with the freedom to innovate and teach highly motivated young people with a passion and aptitude for STEM.
The successful candidate will be part of a close-knit, small team initially and will be required to be highly adaptable and flexible, able to drive high academic standards through outstanding pedagogic practice and the use of high technology. Experience of teaching in an urban context would be an asset.
