Physics Teacher

Durham High School is an Independent Day School for pupils aged 3 - 18. We are a community where ambitions flourish, talents shine and friendships are born.  We have been privileged to educate girls for the last 141 years and our rich heritage is very important to us.

We recently announced a phased move to co-education: from Nursery to Year 6 by September 2025, and from Year 7 to Sixth Form by September 2026. The evolution towards becoming co-educational is reflective of a school that never stands still, and the decision allows the school to move from a position of strength with great confidence and ambition.

Our key task as educators is preparing our pupils for life beyond Durham High, and that is a co-educational world where women and men work, study and live side by side. We're really proud of our educational offering at Durham High School and we are confident that what we do so well for girls, we can also offer boys, whilst protecting the integrity of our offer, reaffirming our core values and delivering an education that will equip girls and boys for life beyond the school gate. The transition is rooted in an educational philosophy that embraces inclusion and respect.
