Location: Meldreth, Cambridgeshire/Hertfordshire border

Salary: £34,102 - £41,122 per year 

Hours:  40 Hours per week

We are currently looking for a Physiotherapist to work on a permanent basis at Orchard Manor. Situated in the village of Meldreth, just ten miles south of Cambridge, on the Cambridgeshire/Hertfordshire border. Orchard Manor offers a supportive living and learning environment for young adults who have severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties resulting in complex learning and physical needs

Main Purpose of the role: 

To provide specialist physiotherapy assessment, treatment and management to young adults with a learning disability and complex needs. The Physiotherapist will work in collaboration with each young person, their network of care, mainstream health services and the multidisciplinary team to enhance, optimise and maintain the young people’s physical presentation, function and quality of life.

Skills and Qualifications

Experience:

  • Previous experience in an Physiotherapy role, preferably with adults in neurorehabilitation and/or with a learning disability.
  • Experience of leading and training others and working collaboratively.
  • Experience of delivering Hydrotherapy and Rebound Therapy.

Essential Criteria:

  • A recognised degree in Physiotherapy (MSc, or BSc in Physiotherapy, with a Learning Disability placement) and current registration of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Ability to demonstrate and commit to continual professional development.
  • High level of mental and physical stamina.
  • A strong desire to make a difference to young people.
  • Willingness to undertake a trainer qualification in Moving and Handling and to provide training to colleagues.
  • Willingness to design and deliver Hydrotherapy and Rebound therapy programmes and provide training to colleagues
