Great Oaks College is a new specialist independent college that is co-located within Oaklands School in a new state of the art, purpose built premises located in Gresham Road, Hounslow. We are close to Osterley Tube Station and public transport routes and just 15 minutes walk from Hounslow bus station. The college provides further educational opportunities to post 19 students that have needs including moderate, severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties and autism.

We are looking to appoint a qualified physiotherapist to provide an onsite physiotherapy service for our students and to work alongside the head of therapy to support and develop this provision. The ideal candidate will have 2 years of experience of working in a specialist school or college for young adults who have very complex needs including PMLD, SLD and autism. The college physiotherapist will lead on all physiotherapy onsite including writing physiotherapy programmes, delivering training to individuals and groups and supporting students. It is essential that the candidate will be experienced and confident with hydrotherapy, inclusive of writing hydrotherapy programmes, leading on hydrotherapy in the water and supporting staff to understand hydrotherapy programmes. The physiotherapist will be responsible for ordering and maintaining physio equipment.

Contract Type:             Part time, Permanent, term time plus 2 weeks in the summer holidays (total of 41 weeks)

Pay Scale:                   Hounslow Scale PO3 point 32 £40,614 per year pro rata to PO5 point 41 £ 49,890 per year pro rata(equivalent to NHS band 7)

Hours of work:             29 hours a week -4 days per week – Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and 1 other day based on needs of the successful candidate.

Actual Salary:               £29,713 to £36,499 per annum.

We run three Pathways within Great Oaks College. The Life Skills Pathway is for young people who need to remain in education to develop skills for supported living. The Vocational Pathway supports our students to develop the skills they require to gain employment. The Sensory Pathway supports students that have Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties. Within this course, students are supported to develop their communication, ICT and independence skills.
