We are now seeking to recruit the Piano Teacher for the School Year 2024-2025.

Job Description:

The Piano Teacher is responsible to support students to bring their performance skills to the next level and prepare them for conservatoire auditions. The piano teaching specialist will also encourage and guide students with external qualifications, such as ABRSM, Trinity and RSL examination. The successful candidate will:

• Demonstrate and maintain a sound knowledge of the repertoire and strong performance skill to inspire the next generation of professionals.
• Be able to support students with their university and conservatoire auditions, including advice relating to traditional and contemporary performance methods.
• A strong track record in running ensembles would be an advantage
• Plan and deliver well-structured lessons, make accurate and productive use of assessment, and communicate clearly the requirement of examinations.
• Set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge students
• Evaluate and develop the music programme offered to students and the teaching strategies used.
• Initiate, support and promote cross-curricular and cross-disciplinary collaborations.
• Cooperate fully and professionally in school activities.

Requirement:

1. Capable of delivering the lessons entirely in English
2. Bachelor Degree (or higher) in Piano Performance, experience with jazz piano is preferred
3. Proficient in music theory, music history, etc.
4. Have clear understanding of university entry requirements
5. Ideal candidate should demonstrate strong team spirit, solid subject knowledge, as well as great enthusiasm for music education
6. Minimum 3 years of high/secondary school piano teaching experience
7. Only candidates under 58 years old would be eligible for visa purpose
