The St John Paul II Multi Academy is a highly successful Catholic Multi Academy encompassing six Primary Schools and two Secondary Schools. Our schools are based in Sutton Coldfield, Erdington and Aston.

The ethos of St John Paul II Multi Academy is Catholic and was founded by the Catholic Church to provide education for children of Catholic families.  

As a Catholic multi academy, we aim to provide a Catholic education for all our pupils. As a Catholic multi academy, Catholic doctrine and practice permeate every aspect of every one of our school’s activities. It is essential that the Catholic character of the school’s education be fully supported by all staff within the multi academy.  We therefore hope that all staff will give their full, unreserved and positive support for the aims and ethos of the St John Paul II Multi Academy. 

We have an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our well resourced team as Play Co-ordinator for our new before and after school club to join a team in securing the safety and welfare of our children both before and after school. The successful candidate will be working with children aged 4 – 11 alongside other Play Co-ordinators and a Manager.

We are looking to appoint someone who:

Has NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification.

Has ideally worked in a school environment or childcare before.

Will assist in the delivery of high quality childcare.

Has exciting and creative ideas to make our Out of School club fun and enjoyable.

Has knowledge of child safeguarding issues.

Has the ability to plan and deliver play activities in an exciting environment for our children.

Can build effective relationships with parents/carers.

Can work well in a team and support a great team ethos.

Is a role-model to pupils and other staff with regard to professionalism and integrity.

Has excellent inter-personal, organisational and communication skills.

Is reliable and committed. 

The successful candidate must be willing to embrace our strong Catholic Ethos, supporting our belief in the Gospel Values which we live and demonstrate daily.


This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent and spoken English is an essential requirement for this role.
