The College has a dedicated Business Services Team and is in a secure position to grow this provision to continue to meet the needs of the local and regional community.
We are looking to appoint a Plumbing and Gas Trainer Assessor to our highly motivated and creative team.
A Plumbing and Gas Trainer Assessor is required to carry out workplace assessments, reviews and set action plans for apprentices, including SMART Targets and deliver on professional qualifications at Levels 2-5 including delivery of Functional Skills.
The role will also include IQA duties within an existing team and developing the College’s offer in conjunction with employer partners and awarding bodies. Suitable candidates will hold a recognised assessment qualification (TAQA, A1, V1 or equivalent), and ideally be confident in all aspects of workplace assessment.

Wigan and Leigh College is a further education college in Wigan, Greater Manchester, which has been providing education and training locally for more than 150 years. It employs around 1,000 staff and has a student roll of about 17,000. Further education students can choose the A-level professional honours programme or vocational qualifications such as BTECs. An expanding higher education portfolio of foundation degrees, top-up degrees, higher nationals and certificates is available to adult students of all ages, both full-time and part-time.
Wigan and Leigh College operates from several sites across the borough: the Parson’s Walk Centre, School for the Arts and Pagefield Centre are in Wigan, close to the town centre. The Image Centre and Leigh College are close to the town centre of Leigh.
