An exciting opportunity for an experienced plumbing and heating specialist to play a key role in the maintenance department of one of the leading independent schools in the UK.

Working in a variety of modern, historic and Grade I and II listed buildings and facilities, you will undertake maintenance, servicing, repairs and modifications of the heating plant and associated equipment, ensuring an efficient and reliable provision of heating and hot water throughout the School.

You will need to have NVQ3 in plumbing and heating and be Gas Safe registered for domestic work, and ideally commercial work. If you have experience of working with a wide range of domestic and commercial plumbing and heating installations, electronic control panels and BMS systems, and can work well in a multi-trade team we would be delighted to hear from you.

Uppingham School is a mixed, Church of England independent secondary school with sixth form and boarding, located in Leicestershire. The secondary school, situated in Uppingham has approximately 791 students on record.

Work is generally presented neatly and pupils’ note-taking is effective. They develop good numeracy skills and their capacity to think critically is notable. Creative abilities are well developed and their exploration of ideas is particularly marked in their enrichment activities. Pupils’ study habits are good. In the lessons observed, pupils worked very well with each other, and also worked well independently. They enjoy their work and this stems in part from the good-natured atmosphere in lessons. Pupils use information and communications technology (ICT) proficiently.”
