Vision for Education are currently seeking a specialist PMLD Teaching Assistant to work in Special Needs Schools across Oldham. We are interested in people who want to work with pupils with profound and multiple learning disabilities from Foundation Stage up to Post 16.

The School

We work with multiple well established and inclusive schools based in Oldham as a PMLD Teaching Assistant you will be able to work within dedicated teams who provide supportive and encouraging environments for all students. The successful PMLD Teaching Assistant will be confident in supporting children with profound and multiple learning disabilities.

The Role

As a PMLD Teaching Assistant you will have a passion for learning and supporting students who have complex learning difficulties to maximise their potential in all areas of their learning. Under the direction of a teacher, you may need to implement group or 1:1 intervention and provide personal care as and when required.

Requirements

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for the PMLD Teaching Assistant position are:

  • A minimum of 6 weeks relevant experience
  • Comfortable supporting with manual handling and providing personal care
  • Hard working, energetic and flexible nature
