Contract: 19 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (potential for extra hours in holidays)
We are a small, nursery to 19 special school academy located in a rural environment in the village of Chinley in the north west corner of Derbyshire. We cater for children and young adults with a whole range of needs, particularly those with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), communication difficulties, and those with extremely challenging behaviour linked to their associated learning difficulties.
We are eager to appoint a friendly, motivated individual to join our Hydrotherapy Pool. Working in a special school the ideal candidate will have an awareness of pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), also having an awareness of the importance and responsibility of keeping children safe in school and have a good work ethic, time management and reliability.
Reporting directly to the Headteacher, the ideal candidate will manage all aspects of the day-to-day operation of the School Pool and provide effective and high quality instruction for swimming and therapy sessions for all ages and abilities. An RLSS NRA swimming teachers/coaches lifeguarding qualification and Pool Plant Management/Pool Operators Plant Certificate are essential.

About Peak School
We are a nursery to 19, special school academy in the north west corner of Derbyshire. We cater for children and young adults with a whole range of needs, particularly those with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), communication difficulties, and those with challenging behaviour linked to their associated learning difficulties. We have a high staff to pupil ratio due to the specific needs of our pupils and also have on-site nurse and speech and language therapists to provide specialist services. We have close working relationships with NHS therapy services, LD CAMHS, Social Care and many other professionals
We are located in a beautiful, rural environment, close to the borders of Cheshire, Stockport and Tameside, where we make full use of the local amenities and make a point of enhancing our curriculum with community based activities and enriching experiences.
