Job Title: Practitioner Psychologist

Location: Underley Gardens School, Kirkby Lonsdale, LA6 2DZ

Salary: Up to £70,000 (pro rata, DOE) + £3,000 Welcome Bonus*

Hours: 37.5 hrs/week, Mon–Fri (part-time considered)

Contract: Permanent (term time only or flexible full-time options)

*£1,500 after 1 month + £1,500 post-probation (T&Cs apply)

About the Role

We’re seeking a Practitioner Psychologist to join our in-house clinical team at Underley Gardens, a specialist day school for children and young people aged 5–19 with autism, SEMH needs, and complex learning difficulties.

You'll work closely with the education team to assess and support pupils using evidence-based interventions. The role includes holding a caseload, contributing to school development, staff training, and participating in a multidisciplinary clinical team.

Essential Criteria

  • HCPC registered
  • Doctorate (or equivalent) in Psychology
  • Experience working with similar client groups
  • Skilled in assessment, intervention, and consultation
  • Strong communication, time management, and organisational skills
  • Able to work across systems and with families/carers
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed and neurodiversity practices
  • Full driving licence and car access

Desirable

  • Experience in schools or residential care
  • Supervision and training experience
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and evidence-based interventions
