Job overview

We are looking for a Premises Assistant to support the work of our Premises Manager at the School. The successful candidate will have a flexible and proactive approach to the job and will be responsible for securing the school and the undertaking of minor repairs and maintenance. You will coordinate a small group of cleaning staff each afternoon to ensure that the school is ready and prepared for the next day’s learning.

 

This is a term time only post. The position does include out of hours emergency on call attendance as well as physical work outside.

 

Typical hours will be 12:30 - 17:30 to be agreed with the Principal. There will be a requirement to be flexible and at times there may also be the opportunity to work extra hours for specific events.

 

Key responsibilities of the role include being one of the main key holders, securing the school, general maintenance of the school and ensuring health and safety, security and cleanliness standards are upheld at all times.

 

The ideal candidate will have:

 

•            Previous experience working in a similar role, preferably in a school setting

•            Strong IT, verbal and written communication skills and a flexible approach

•            The ability to work under pressure, use initiative and manage conflicting priorities

•            Knowledge and experience of maintenance and health and safety compliance
