Job overview

We are looking for a Premises Assistant to join our Maintenance team. Collegiate is a thriving and happy co-educational day school for pupils aged 3 to 18, located in Stapleton, Bristol. The School occupies a glorious thirty-acre campus and has all of its facilities on-site.

We have a part-time role available with working hours between 6pm and 10.30pm, Monday and Friday, all year round. The role will also involve working a number of Sundays throughout the year on a flexible basis. More details on this can be discussed at interview.

The hourly rate is £12.50 per hour. Other benefits include uniform, free parking on site, a defined contribution pension scheme and 6.6 weeks paid holiday including bank/public holidays each year, on a pro-rata basis for part-time hours.

What you'll be doing:

  • Be the first point of contact for visitors on site, for example, parents, hirers or visitors

  • Ensure the hired facilities are as required, cloakroom facilities are pointed out and emergency procedures are explained.

  • Provide a professional and friendly customer service at all times to all staff, parents, pupils and visitors.

  • Complete evening boiler room checks and kitchen electrical checks.

  • Respond to emergency situations with confidence, for example, water leaks, power or heating failures, and update the Head of Maintenance or Facilities Director.

  • Support setting up/taking down in readiness for a planned school activity.

  • Respond to urgent requests such as breakages, spills or safety issues.

  • Respond promptly and effectively to fire and intruder alarm calls/activations.

  • Ensure that all buildings and the site areas are locked and secured.
