Newhaven School is seeking to appoint a committed, well organised, proactive and caring person to take on the role of a secondary school Premises Assistant and to support the Premises Manager in maintaining all aspects of the premises. The successful applicant must be able to complete general maintenance duties, minor repairs, porterage and basic DIY. A skill in plumbing or carpentry is desirable. You will report to the Premises Manager at our additional site. Previous experience in facilities would be an advantage but is not essential however, being hard working and displaying a firm commitment to our school’s appearance and security is.
Responsibilities will include:
• Ensuring a safe working environment
• Day-to-day maintenance of the school, security management and preparation of facilities
• Understanding of and the implementation of health and safety and security protocols
• IT skills – emails/reports
• Flexibility and high standards of workmanship
• Proven range of maintenance skills
