Hours: 35 hours per week, 52 weeks.

Contract: Permanente

Brooklands is one-form entry primary and nursery school based in a leafy private estate in Blackheath, Greenwich. We aim to provide the very best education for all our pupils; giving time so that each child can develop academic, personal and social skills in a caring and stimulating family-type environment. Here we believe that children learn best through direct experience. Our school curriculum is based on this principle, which captures interest, stimulates enthusiasm and provides learning opportunities for pupils of all abilities. At Brooklands, pupils are encouraged to take an increasing responsibility for their learning, which we believe promotes greater confidence and independence, preparing them for their future life.

Brooklands is also part of the highly successful Maritime Academy Trust, an innovative partnership of eight academies working across Greenwich, Bexley, Kent and Medway.

We are looking for a Premises Manager who can come and help us develop our incredible grounds and premises in order to further improve the experience of Brooklands for our whole community. We have one main building, built in 1957, which requires refurbishment and development and we also have 2 playgrounds, a field and 3 other outside learning areas which we wish to develop and improve. This role will consist of maintenance work as well as ensuring we are meeting standards around Health and Safety and compliance.

You will be

- someone with experience of completing repairs and maintenance activities

- a team player who can work with the rest of the staff following the Maritime behaviours

- someone who will support and develop our vision for creating a positive learning environment for our community

In return we offer

- a positive, happy and friendly working environment

- a fantastic school community all working towards achieving the best for our pupils

- opportunities for further career development through the Maritime Academy Trust

- a range of amazing benefits through the Maritime Hub such as EAP Pensions, Cycle to Work Scheme, Wellbeing Centre, Employee Assistance Programme, development opportunities and access to hundreds of retail discounts

Welcome to our School's profile. Brooklands School forms part of the Maritime Academy Trust, a multi-academy trust that is committed to making sure that education is meaningful.

Our Trust is made up of 11 primary schools located in Greenwich, Bexley and Kent. Though our schools may be different with their own in-school culture and community spirit, they all work harmoniously and collaboratively together within an entrepreneurial curriculum that ensures each and every child is being equipped with leadership and life skills. At Maritime, we do this by empowering schools to drive more meaningful and enjoyable outcomes for children by having great people working for us, who commit to working hard to make an impact whatever the school and whatever the role.

At Brooklands we believe that it is our responsibility to create a place of learning which is populated with curious, resilient and independent learners for life.

We expect all of our learners to:

  • Be curious
  • Concentrate
  • Co-operate
  • Enjoy learning
  • Find things out
  • Have a go/take risks
  • Keep improving
  • Persevere and not give up
  • Use their imagination
  • Respect and care for others

We believe these are the ‘keys to success’ and, as such, we ensure that our curriculum provides many opportunities to hone these lifelong skills. We believe that if these skills are developed in all our learners they will be well-equipped to thrive in our ever-changing and challenging world, enabling choice and opening up options for their futures.

So, if you are looking for a place to apply your knowledge and develop your skill set in a friendly and energised environment, then Maritime may be the place for you. All we ask for is a commitment to continue to learn and the flexibility to try new things as we strive to ensure that every single child receives a phenomenal education.
