Job overview

Are you someone who enjoys working as part of a team and takes pride in ensuring the school always looks its best, delivering a high quality service with a friendly manner?

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Premises Assistant to work as part of our friendly team. You will need to be trustworthy, flexible, take pride in your work and be able to work with all members of the school community. We are looking for someone experienced in building or premises management with recognised experience, training or qualifications. The post holder will need good English to be responsive to Health & Safety requirements, and confident to work alone and manage school security (building and contents). The successful candidate will be expected to liaise effectively with contractors (e.g. trades, grounds workers) and be willing to attend appropriate training courses. You will be expected to be aware and undertake safeguarding responsibilities working around children and be respectful of the need for confidentiality that exists when working in a school environment.

You will have a good standard of education and possess a proven working knowledge of building maintenance, decorating and general caretaking.

This role comes with the unique benefit of residential accommodation providing the successful post-holder with a rare opportunity to live in a quality, family sized 2 bedroom bungalow at a considerably reduced rate comparative to current market prices for the area. For the better performance of the role, the post holder will be expected to live in the caretaker’s accommodation adjacent to the school site, under the terms of a service occupancy agreement dependent on this employment. As a residential premises assistant, the role will include key holding and call out responsibilities.
