Westminster Academy has a fantastic opportunity for a reliable, proactive and skilled Premises Assistant to join our experienced Site Team. This is a varied, hands-on role where you will make a visible difference every day, helping to ensure that our school remains a safe, welcoming and well-maintained environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

Working closely with the Head of Site Services, you will help keep the site running smoothly, responding to maintenance requests, carrying out minor repairs, undertaking security and compliance checks, supporting contractors and helping with the set-up of school events and activities. You will also assist with porterage, grounds duties and the general upkeep of communal areas. You will join a well-organised premises team covering the school day from opening at 6:30am through to 6pm on a shift basis. Some flexibility for occasional evening and weekend work will be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out general maintenance, minor repairs and routine checks across the school site.

  • Assist with opening, closing and securing the school buildings when required.

  • Assist with deliveries, moving furniture and setting up rooms for school events and lettings.

  • Report maintenance, security and health & safety concerns and maintain relevant site records.

What we are looking for:

  • Previous caretaking, premises or facilities experience, ideally within a school environment.

  • Good practical maintenance skills with a proactive and hands-on approach.

  • Reliable, organised and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
