Values and vision
As a Catholic learning community, The Sacred Heart Language College is a Christian school bound together by love and respect for human dignity. The secondary school wants to enable everyone in its community to come to a deeper understanding of Christ. In particular, the school seeks to provide a high-quality education that will enable all girls to discover and use the gifts and talents given by God.
Sacred Heart promote excellence in modern languages across the whole ability range. The taught curriculum creates an educational culture that is international, technological and vocational. Through the introduction of an extended school day, pupils have the opportunity to study at least two languages. They are also given the chance to attend a study visit abroad.
Ofsted report
“The atmosphere in lessons is positive and extremely supportive. Students feel confident to admit their failings and readily seek help or offer assistance to each other. In this way, students learn from each other and develop a better understanding of the more difficult aspects of their work. Teachers have great knowledge of their students’ prior learning and use this well to plan appropriate activities.”
