This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and highly motivated individual to join Lancaster Campus on a part time (0.6FTE 3 days per week) permanent basis as a Premises Manager working term time only.

Key Responsibilities;

  • Assist in the maintenance of the school as a learning environment including providing on-site IT support under the instruction of the central IT team 
  • Assist in routine and non-routine opening and closing of the school buildings and grounds 
  • Ensure that the schools’ premises and furnishings are cleaned in accordance to the standards agreed by the School by overseeing the work of our cleaning contractors. 
  • Carry our minor or temporary repairs, as agreed 
  • Draw the attention to the Health and Safety Officer to any necessary repair or maintenance work that is beyond the competence of the premises staff 
  • Direct contractors and workmen to repair the maintenance jobs and inspect their work afterwards- Follow Health and Safety procedures 
  • Work with the Health and Safety Officer to maintain a Fire Register log, for recording fire drills, testing alarms, fire escape routes, emergency lighting, fire appliances, including maintenance and service defaults 
  • Ensure that the heating plant operates economically and efficiently, together with the hot water system 
  • Carry out frost precaution procedures 
  • Order cleaning materials within a prescribed budget 
  • Be aware of Health and Safety and COSHH regulations and work with the Health and Safety Officer in ensuring the school confirms to all Health and Safety standards and requirements 
  • Carry our emergency procedures in the event of a fire, flood, break in, accident or minor damage 
  • Provide for emergency access to the school when necessary 
  • Take appropriate action to prevent trespassers on the school grounds and record incidents of trespass or vandalism 
  • Prepare for after school activities and ensure that the accommodation is ready again afterwards for normal school use 
  • Ensure that all play areas and paths are litter free 
  • Inspect all drains and gullies to ensure that they are free flowing and clean and that any defects are reports 
  • Take delivery of supplies ordered by the school and store them 


You will:

  • Have experience of caretaking / general maintenance (Tradesperson background, experience or qualification would be desirable)  
  • Have a IOSH qualification/ NEBOSH qualification is desirable 
  • The ability and experience to undertake DIY tasks 
  • Have a flexible, pro-active approach with a positive attitude
  • Experience of using ICT – either for work or domestically and have the ability to solve ICT related problems
  • Good communication skills written/ verbal and good organisational skills 
  • A positive role model of professional practice and conduct of others 
  • Good working knowledge of heating, cooling, security and plant systems 
  • Working knowledge of Data Protection and Confidentiality 
  • Ideally be First Aid trained 
  • Willingness to undertake relevant training and identify own development needs 
  • Committed to ongoing CPD and Professional development (ie; Health & Safety training) 
  • Knowledge, understanding and commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion informed by practical experience and application
  • Knowledge, understanding and commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students 
  • Ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with students  
  • To perform such other duties as may be requested from time to time, commensurate with the role 
  • Uphold and promulgate the OneSchool Global UK ethos within all areas of responsibility 
  • Contribute to, share in and promote the wider and longer-term vision of OSG UK and OneSchool Global 
  • Comply with and support the implementation of all OSG UK policies 
  • To adhere to Health & Safety Policies and ensure all tasks are carried out with due regard to Health and Safety

OneSchool Global UK Lancaster Campus (formerly Focus School Hornby Campus) is located on edge of Hornby village in the beautiful Lune Valley. We have excellent communication links being just minutes from the M6 and located just off the A638 Lancaster to Kirkby Lonsdale road.

The school has been modernised and re-furbished to a high standard and we are constantly improving the learning environment for our students. We have over 11 acres of school grounds containing grass and all weather pitches for sports and recreation, purpose built Science, Design Technology and Food Technology suites alongside our classrooms, Learning Centre and ICT suites which all have views across the stunning Lune Valley.
