Seven Mills Primary School is a small, friendly school located on the Isle of Dogs, dedicated to providing our learners with the best education through exciting experiential learning. We are seeking a committed and proactive Premises Manager to join our team and ensure that our school environment is safe, clean, and welcoming for all.
About the Role:
As the Premises Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining the school premises to a high standard of safety, security, cleanliness, and tidiness. You will manage health and safety compliance, oversee cleaning and maintenance staff, and liaise with external contractors to ensure that our school facilities meet statutory obligations. This is a vital role that requires a diligent individual who takes pride in their work and is passionate about making a difference in our school community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and conduct regular inspections.
- Manage the security of the school premises, including monitoring alarm systems and CCTV.
- Oversee maintenance and repairs, ensuring all facilities are safe and in good working order.
- Supervise cleaning staff and maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the school.
- Manage the school’s budget for premises-related expenses and ensure cost-effective solutions.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience in premises management or a similar role is preferable but not essential.
- Knowledge of key health and safety regulations (training will be provided).
- Strong work ethic, organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
