The list of duties is not exclusive or exhaustive and the post holder will be required to undertake such tasks as may reasonably be expected within the scope and grading of the post.
Main Responsibilities
Minor maintenance tasks and repairs both internal and external
Maintain school gardens on both sites
To carry out Health and Safety checks and procedures, including fire procedures
Responsible for the resources and grounds of the school
Liaising with the Site Superviser on maintenance issues and contributing to the cleaning service on both sites
To ensure security of the premises and its contents (including the operation of fire and intruder alarms and key holder responsibilities)
Be aware of, and comply with, policies and procedures relating to child protection, health and safety, security and confidentiality, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person
To attend out of normal working hours during an emergency (including evening and weekend lettings as required)
To carry out all duties in a safe manner and in line with current school policies and procedures.
Ensure that buildings and the site are secure, including during out of academy hours and take remedial action if required
Act as the designated key holder for the academy premises
Operate and regularly check systems such as heating, cooling, lighting and security (including CCTV and alarms)
Undertake minor repairs (i.e. not requiring a qualified craftsperson) and maintenance of the buildings and sites
Report emergency repair to the Site Supervisor
Report regular maintenance and safety checks to the Site Supervisor
Monitor stock and order supplies via the Site Supervisor
Undertake general portage duties, including moving furniture and equipment within the academy
Perform duties in line with health and safety and COSHH regulations and take action where hazards are identified, report serious hazards to line manager immediately
Ensure the operation and maintenance of specialised equipment following training, for example sports/theatrical equipment
Undertake regular health and safety checks of both buildings, grounds, fixtures and fittings, (including compliance with fire safety regulations) and equipment, in line with other schedules
To carry out all duties in a safe manner and in line with current school policies and procedures.
