Casterton, Sedbergh Prep School is situated in a spectacular rural location in the Lune Valley, an ideal place for living out the ethos of allowing children to be children. We strive to realise the potential in all of our pupils, from the classroom to the stage, or to the sports pitch.

We are now seeking a Prep School Secretary to cover the current post holder’s maternity leave, ideally commencing in May 2021. The role will be part-time, term time only, working 20 hours per week (0.4 FTE).

This is a vital position within the Prep School, and the successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth, friendly and professional secretarial and administrative service, in support of the Prep School Front Office.  

The successful candidate must be able to work as part of a busy team, receiving visitors in a professional and courteous manner, and have a warm rapport with parents and children alike.

Our ideal candidate will have excellent secretarial and IT skills, yet also be able to act as the first point of enquiry for pupils, including ‘first triage’ for any pupil reporting unwell or injured, at the occasional times when the medical room might be unmanned.
