Cranbury College is a pioneering Trauma Informed Alternative Provision school catering for 5 – 18-year-olds, based in Reading.

With this is mind we are looking to strengthen the Primary Outreach team and want to appoint a resilient and outgoing Primary Behaviour Outreach Worker to join our fun and lively team. You will be based at our primary site supporting staff and primary students but will be required to offer support in the local primary schools also. This is a challenging but very rewarding role supporting some of the most vulnerable pupils in Reading. The ability to build strong relationships is essential. 

The main responsibilities are as follows:

  • To assist the Primary Behaviour Support Officer in working with individuals, groups of children and staff teams in mainstream primary, by delivering intervention and support programmes.
  • Improve social, emotional, and academic outcomes for children and young people through the development of positive relationships with all stakeholders and the effective planning and delivery intervention and support programmes.
  • To ensure the development and effective implementation of programmes and curriculum that meets the needs of young people at risk of exclusion, to improve their behaviour and reduce that risk by continuous review and sharing of good practise. 

The successful applicant will have a proven track record of relevant work with young people in a field such as Education, Youth Work, Health or Social Services. Additionally, you will have a demonstrable passion for transforming the lives of young people coupled with an abundance of enthusiasm which will encourage engagement and commitment from our students.
