An exciting opportunity has arisen at Derby High School for an enthusiastic, innovative and creative Primary Teacher. The successful candidate will have the potential to deliver outstanding lessons to Infant or Junior pupils. 

The successful applicant will also be expected to make a positive contribution to the co-curricular life of the school.  

You will be: 

·       an inspirational primary teacher, with a strong knowledge of child development 

·       passionate about innovative learning and teaching and believe in high aspirations for all children 

·       a dynamic, forward-thinking individual 

·       committed to pupil success and high levels of pastoral care for each individual 

·       highly organised, enthusiastic with the ability to plan, prioritise and manage a varied workload

·       a collaborator who is team focused and keen to share knowledge and information with other members of staff to promote excellent practice

·       an interest in leading Maths would be an advantage but it is not essential

The school has rigorous safeguarding and child protection procedures in place and applicants will be required to undertake child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. 

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
