Application Procedure

Derby High School is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and encourages applications from suitably qualified applicants from a wide range of backgrounds.

Applicants are asked to complete the enclosed application form and return it with a supporting letter on no more than 2 sides of A4.   Applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible and may be interviewed before the closing date.

We reserve the right to close this advertisement early if we have received a high volume of suitable applications.

The school has rigorous safeguarding and child protection procedures in place and applicants will be required to undertake child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The school will undertake online searches on shortlisted applicants and may require applicants to provide details of their online profile, including social media accounts.

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

A CV on its own is not acceptable.  All referees will be contacted both in writing and by telephone.
