Job overview

Would you like to join the staff team of an expanding Alternative Provision Trust as part of our new Primary provision?

Due to the growth Solihull Alternative Provision Multi Academy Trust and the expansion of age range to include Primary, we are seeking to recruit an effective, creative and passionate Primary Class Teacher to develop and lead our newest provision. As we have expanded, we have continued to recruit committed, passionate and talented staff who ensure a full range of interventions to help change the outcomes of and life chances for our children for the better.

We ensure all children across the Local Authority have access to a high-quality alternative educational provision and are now extended that access to Primary-age children in a soon-to-be refurbished building at our Daylesford site.

The Trust provides a safe, well-ordered, caring and highly supportive learning environment. Our new Primary ARP will deliver high-quality Tier 1-3 education to children who need a more closely-focused and flexible learning solution. The use of outstanding, inspiring teaching and clear, consistent guidance and support will play a pivotal role in helping each child fulfil their maximum potential for growth, self-worth, and self-regulation. Our children will benefit from small class sizes where an emphasis will be placed on a personalised approach to learning.

About this Role:

As a core class teacher you will ensure the highest possible outcomes and pathways for all, whilst supporting and developing relationships with parents, the local community and working in partnership with partner providers and schools.

You will be able to demonstrate:

  • Excellent pedagogy and strong behaviour management skills
  • Ability to motivate students through inspirational teaching.
  • Unconditional positive regard for at-risk children
  • Ability to teach across EYFS/KS1/KS2

The Multi Academy Trust’s leadership team is determined to give our students the best opportunities possible to become successful, responsible citizens with the best life chances. This is a critical appointment for this new provision and is an exciting opportunity for you to work in an aspirational, therapeutic and innovative environment with students who need you.

In return, SAPMAT will offer you:

  • The chance to make a real difference in the lives of our children
  • A friendly and supportive team
  • Continuous professional development
  • The opportunity to grow your own career within the trust
  • Employee benefits including Staff wellbeing program

Solihull Alternative Provision Multi Academy Trust exists because we have a commitment and passion for providing the best alternative provision to enable the educational futures and improve the life chances for every student who comes to us. We consider that a locally-led and accountable Trust focused on alternative provision provides the best outcomes for learners in danger of “falling through the cracks”. Our mission, across the Trust, is to:

  • Prevent Permanent Exclusion (and/or providing a pathway back from it)
  • Use more targeted intervention and relational teaching and therefore Fewer Fixed Term Exclusions (Suspensions)
  • Enable our students to beat their Baseline and KS2 targets

By doing this we are, most importantly, able to ensure there are No NEETS in our leavers.  Ensuring these positive destinations and outcomes of education, employment and/or training  for the most vulnerable, most disadvantaged  and highest-tariff children in the area is our clear focus and external partnerships, particularly with local employers/business are hugely important to enable us to continue hitting the targets for our students as we expand.

Our Trust is currently comprised of two schools; Solihull Alternative Provision Academy and Daylesford Academy, across three sites and we will be welcoming a third academy and three more sites in 2024.
