Job overview

Straits Education International Group (SEIG)

Straits International School, Rawang is a young school that opened its doors in October 2018 with a founding campus in Penang from 2013. Since then, we have grown rapidly but still retain the advantages of a small school, most notably the family feel and the warmth of the community. This is an exciting time for the group, as we have now settled into a new purpose-built campus in Rawang, close to Kuala Lumpur.

We are expanding our Primary team, recruiting staff for a September 2020 start date.

What we look for:

  • Passionate and caring educators
  • Bachelor of Education in the related subject or a Bachelor’s Degree in a related subject with PGCE or other teacher qualification with a minimum of 2-year teaching experience in the related field.
  • Experience of the British and/or Cambridge Curriculums
  • A commitment to an extensive enrichment programme

There is potential for a Key Stage 2 Coordinator role for the right candidate

Application:

Please send your letter of application along with your CV to the Head of Primary, Mr. John Murphy (j.murphy@sisgroup.edu.my) and ‘cc’ our Principal, Mr. Stephen Willoughby (swilloughby@sisgroup.edu.my) into the email.

As a school, we pride ourselves on the level of care we give to our students. The motto, ‘Not for me, not for you, but for us,’ really captures what we are trying to do. We aim to combine academic rigour with a key sense of kindness, personal responsibility and determination to overcome challenges.

We therefore need staff that work hard, stay flexible and are resilient in the face of challenges. We value staff who will do all they can to push the school forward, be proactive and have the interests of the wonderful students at heart. In return, they will find fantastic children, the personal freedom to be innovative in what they teach and the trust to help develop the school and shape its future.

Life in Kuala Lumpur.

Stroll through streets filled with exceptional art, amazing cafes and interesting shops or in contrast, you can visit one of the many western malls that house stores from the UK, Australia and the US. It is voted as one of the top ten places in the world to live! The quality of life here is why many expats make it their home.

Our salaries are competitive, excellent accommodation is provided and flights will be provided for overseas employed staff only (air fare will not be provided for dependents).
